For the 3rd year in a row since 2009, Holy Easter was celebrated on Resurrection Sunday at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Malaysia.
The RCSC in Kuala Lumpur welcomed Father Sergius from Moscow and with him a delegation from the Church of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary which was headed by Father Alexander (Singapore).
A congregation of compatriots, members of Russian institutions, and fellow Russians who are residing permanently in Malaysia gathered for Easter prayer at the RCSC’s hall. The liturgy was led by Father Sergius. During communion after the liturgy both Father Sergius and Father Alexander listened to those assembled and gave spiritual advice.
Father Alexander relayed to all an Easter message from His Holiness the Patriarch Kirill. Later on Easter edibles were given out – they complimented the traditional tea drinking session with compatriots. The congregation discussed urgent matters and shared experience on living in Malaysia.
The event came to pass with much holiness and sincerity, and everyone was very thankful for the spiritual support which is all the more necessary so far away from Mother Russia.
