On April 10 a meeting with the influential family members of the former Malaysian Deputy Prime-minister Gafar Baba was organized at RCSC on the initiative of RF Ambassador. Gafar Baba’s son and his daughter as well as his other relatives attended the event. The occasion of the event was presentation of Gafar Baba’s portrait created by the Honoured Russian artist Vladimir Velichko in the time when Gafar Baba held this high position.
The meeting was officiated by the Ambassador of RF in Malaysia Alexander Karchava. who emphasized Gafar Baba’s role in the development and strengthening of ties between USSR/Russia and
Malaysia. The son Azri Gafar stressed the importance of relations with Russia for Malaysia.
The Malaysian guests were offered a refreshment with a taste of Russian national cuisine.
